The 65 minutes you actually have before the Uber to SoHo is enough, budget for that, not the full 90 the shop advertises, or Malbon at 2 gets pushed back. Open until 7pm.

123 Mercer St, five minutes from Malbon. Real flagship, not a chain, Goodyear welted dress shoes in the $200 to $350 range, plus a real accessories line that covers belts too. This finally solves it, actual stop, actual solution, not a lull note anymore.

Little Branch, unmarked door on 7th Ave South, an original speakeasy pioneer, no website on purpose, no reservations, first come first served, genuinely one of the best in the city
High Line before sunset, north end near 14th if you want one more short walk
Stroll West Village, best neighborhood in the city for no agenda walking, and you're already standing in it right after Le Labo
Freshen Up Before Omakase
Le Labo wraps around 4:30, dinner's not until 6:30. Worth knowing: the hotel's back in Hell's Kitchen, a real Uber round trip there and back eats 50-60 minutes of this window, not a quick in-and-out. If a full change matters, budget for it and skip Theo's below. If a casual reset is enough, bring a fresh shirt in a bag, change at Le Labo or a bar bathroom, and keep the window open for Theo's instead.

Theo's Haberdashery
13 E 7th St, right next to McSorley's. Vintage Americana, curated watches and jewelry, and their own cigar line named for Theodore Roosevelt. Real reviews call the pricing honest and reasonable. This is moved up from after dinner on purpose, they close at 9pm Fridays, so arriving post-omakase would mean arriving right as they're locking up. 45 minutes here still leaves real time before the 6:30 reservation.

131 1st Ave, East Village. Carne asada on fresh flour tortillas. Open Friday until 3am. Walk in, no reservation, whenever the night naturally gets here. Worth knowing, this is the first US outpost of a small Mexico City chain, reviews are genuinely mixed, some rave, some call it overhyped.
